Bob Corser and Chino Vasquez roll sevens

Bob Corser opened his match with an exciting 279 game and could easily have had a 300 except for a stubborn 10 pin. He finished with games of 214 and 224 for a masterful 717 series.

Chino Vasquez, meanwhile, joined Corser, shooting a sizzling 269/700 for his second seven this winter season. Scores for the Tuesday Independent League were terrific, like Chris Vreeland (257/652), Kris Geelan (235/643) and Terrell Day (233/646). Chris Butts rolled 238/644, Art Davis 230/643 and Julio Reyes 225/640. Casey Cypert rolled another six (219/624) and Bob Stokes Junior joined the honors list for the first time with a sizzling 218/617. Also joining for the first time was Pierre Chaldu 200/570) and Ron Morrison(226/552).

Youth Leagues

He likes to lead and lead he did for week 2. Hunter Lambert led the Bantams with a nifty set, this time 122/347. Quin Archer joined the 300 club with a great 131/322, while three youngsters gleefully rolled quality 200 sets: Libbie Wells (116/264), Emmett Weller (75/216) and Madeline Skou (72/203).

Meanwhile, leading the Juniors/Seniors was that up-and-coming star, Jacqueline Borge, rolling a fantastic 203/486 series. Dale Overholts rolled 167/446, Krista Tabor 172/435 and just missing her four was Shelby Morton, firing a delightful 134/383.

Classic Commercial League

Pat Terek rolled a spectacular 278/726 and JR Alhambra a sensational 280/702 to lead fifteen other super shooters on week 2. Ken Bailey came ever so close to a 300 and 700 rolling a fabulous 289/691 while Mark Salinas stroked a 248/673. Pat Dampier shot 242/669 and Justin Bailey 257/663. Lynn Bond rolled his usual quality six, a 232/650, Danny Schanick hit a 222/648 and easing by his dad was Joey Panel, pounding out a 244/638 to his dad's 233/635. Anchoring the honors list was Augusto Rodriguez, rolling a 259/625 series from the corner.

AAFES Leagues

Jennifer Lane led the department store shooters on week 2 with a fantastic 220/577. JR Alhambra and Art Davis fired twin 570 sets and Kelly Kubick fell just one pin short, shooting 219/569. Roy Taatjes was his normal self, rolling a 188/544 while Jared Alhambra rolled a 212/538. Richard Chojnacky stroked 181/519 and anchoring the honors list was Debra Craig, shooting a delightful 192/511 series.

Wednesday Morning Ladies League

Cassie Mullen burned the 10 board on lanes 3 and 4 for a fierce 227/583 series to lead the lady shooters in scoring. Shelley Weller rolled a 194/517 and Sylvia Manweiler anchored the fives list with a 200/504. Two young 490 shooters carried the honors list around the concourse: Nita Phenicie showing off her 196/498 and Tara Frushon announcing her 192/496.

Hits and Mrs. League

The Matriarch's reign ended as three young ladies decided it was their turn to lead in scoring. Judy Jenkins rolled a delightful 190/528, but it wasn't good enough to beat Michelle Chilbert's sensational 205/557 and Shelley Weller's fantastic 197/542. Liz Schmidt rolled a 192/531 and holding the honors list high was Rose Marie Vasquez with her second super set (182/487) and Fran Winston blowing smoke off her 171/480 series.

Thursday Intramural League

Jeff Pridemore led the league with an outstanding 238/658 series. Tracey Halman donned her super girl uniform and stroked a massive 236/644 while Michael Keen tried to catch Tracey but fell a stick short (268/643). Miguel Landeros rolled a 225/608, Jim Sorrells a 221/606 and Conrado Febrer shot a 213/599 series to anchor the honors list.

Friday Mixed Nuts League

The Alhambra family and Sam Loresco, and the Vega tribe, romped and stomped to 8-0 whitewashes of their opponents on week 3. Loresco came ever so close to his seven (237/699) while Jared outshot JR 279/643 to 235/635. Meanwhile, the Sour Grapes (Vega Tribe) were led by GT rolling a great 232/642. Matt hit 228/656, Kristin 201/519 and Linda 148/401.

Elsewhere, Michael Cummins rolled a 231/658, not quite as good as Augusto Rodriguez's 240/663, but better than Doug Fennell's 247/619. The Horse (Ron Heron) galloped to a 230/631, Zac Brockway stroked a 212/612, Lynn Bond rolled a 244/605 and Ken Greene Senior a 232/602. Joey Panel anchored the honors list with a 244/647 while Lerma whipped Jake by 18 pins.

Grey Panthers League

The Deadly Trio showed no mercy on week 2, annihilating their opponents 4-0. Joe Bousquet led the team with a 224/597, Big Al Howerton added a 234/576 and the Deadly One himself, Dudley Fernandes, stroked a fearsome 222/565. The top old timer for the week was Julio Reyes, shooting a fantastic 265/662. Lee McClatchey hit a strong 213/527 while Liz Schmidt anchored the individual honors list with a delightful 183/514. Team-wise, The Dirty Old Men - with Andy Winston hitting 191/465 - won 3-of-4 while Three Old Men lost 3-of-4 to George Lucaric's team of consistent shooters: George (211/537), Richard Barraza (187/491 and Bud Owen (161/461).
