The Chumash Casino Resort will have another famous country artist to add to the growing list that has graced its stage when Clint Black performs there Oct. 26.
This year, Black released his 10th full-length studio album. While his hit songs 8 including BKillin? Time,C BA Better Man,C BLike the Rain,C BWhen I Said I DoC and BNothin? But the TaillightsC 8 are sure to keep the Chumash audience singing along, material from his new album should be as enlightening as to just who Clint Black is.
The new album BDrinkin? Songs & Other LogicC was meant to be a Bbar-room, honky tonk kind of album,C according to a press release, and hence the title.
Songs from the album include BHeartaches,C BI Don?t Wanna Tell You,C BCode of the West,C BGo It Alone,C BRainbow in the Rain,C BThinkin? Of You,C BLongnecks & RednecksC and BUndercover Cowboy.C
The album was co-written by lead guitarist Hayden Nicholas, and one meaningful song, BBack Home In Heaven,C is an exception to the honky-tonk theme, but was put on the album because it was inspired by the death of Nicholas? mother.
For the album, Black drew from his past, the days when he played Texas clubs as a teenager in his brother?s band.
Black made his big country music debut in 1989 when RCA released BKillin? Time.C In 2001 he split from RCA, relocated to Nashville from California, built a home studio and became a founding partner of a new record company, Equity. Black?s BSpend My TimeC was Equity?s first release.
Regardless of which of the many hits Black unleashes for his Chumash audience, they are likely to be impressed by how happy he is to be doing what he?s doing.
BA lot of people are misguided about the true source of happiness,C he said in a press release. BIt?s not money or fame or awards. It?s doing what you love to do.C
