Item giveaway

Various household items will be available to active duty military personnel from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 26-27, at 3486 Rucker Road.

All items are free.

Senior workshop

Souza and Associates hosts a free workshop entitled, "Senior Financial Bloopers and Blunders," at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Bakers Square, 936 North H St. Learn to avoid financial mistakes. Space is limited in this free workshop.

LVGS yard sale

The Lompoc Valley Genealogical Society holds a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 25-26, at 3495 Via Arnez in Mission Hills.

Items range from watercolor paintings to appliances. Proceeds go toward books for the Lompoc Public Library.

Schoolhouse tours

The historic Artesia schoolhouse will be open for tours from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at 115 West Chestnut Ave.
