Boys & Girls Club showcases arts and crafts
The United Boys & Girls Club will hold their annual Arts-N-Crafts Show June 24 and 25, at the “Lompoc Clubhouse,C 1025 W. Ocean Ave. (right across from the Flower Festival).
Dozens of crafters from the Central Coast will have a variety of crafts and art available for purchase. There will also be free crafts and face-painting for the children.
Tickets on sale for Turducken Dinner
The fourth annual Turducken Black Tie event will be Nov. 4, this year. The dinner will again benefit local libraries. Don/t miss out, reserve your tickets early by calling Bob Lungl at 737-5727 or e-mail Turduckendinner@aol.com.
Barbecue fund-raiser set
A barbecue and dance will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 100 E. Locust Ave., to raise money to offset medical expenses for Bobby Cobb, who is suffering severe complications from pneumonia. His mother is Rocky Cobb, owner of the Whistle Stop Bar & Grill.
Republican Club to meet
The public is invited to the Lompoc Valley Republican Club/s picnic meeting, from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Miguelito County Park, Area 2, to discuss the results of the primary election on Tuesday.
Sheriff/s candidates and Debbie Argel Bastian, a gold-star mother, have been invited to the meeting. The club/s scholarship winner will be presented and board actions and members will follow the picnic.
The menu includes barbecue tri-tip, hot dogs, sausage, salad, beans, garlic bread and a selection of local wines, beer and soft drinks. Guests can bring a dessert to share with other guests.
The park is two miles south of Lompoc on Miguelito Canyon Road.
Admission is ,10 for adults; no charge for children under 12.
