With the Gap fire continuing to consume brush in the mountains above Goleta, officials with Southern California Edison are warning residents of the South Coast that power outages are still possible and are asking customers to conserve energy.
Edison customers between Goleta and Carpinteria are urged to conserve electricity in order to allow power to more customers in the area, officials said.
Since the Gap Fire started Tuesday, customers have lost power sporadically when smoke and ash have disrupted transmission lines.
Conservation tips include:
8 Turn off unnecessary lights;
8 avoid using dishwashers, washing machines or dryers during the daytime or early evening;
8 unplug plasma televisions.
