Alina, 5, and Antoinette, 7, Terrones of Lompoc stop by the Catholic Charities community food pantry Wednesday, with turkeys to donate to families in need.
Both managed to win their turkeys at La Honda Elementary School’s annual Turkey Trot.
“We could only eat one turkey,” Antoinette said.
The Terrones household already had a turkey thawing, so the two girls asked their parents if they could give their birds away.
“We wanted to let other people have more food,” kindergartner Alina said.
Representatives at the food pantry, located at 903 East Chestnut Ave., said that donations had allowed them to meet rising demand for this Thanksgiving.
