Voting out the incumbent

Congressman Elton Gallegly must be replaced this November.

When he considered serving us or retiring in the spring, he chose retiring. Then President Bush called him, and he decided to run again. So who does he really represent? The Bush administration, not us.

He continues supporting this stupid war in Iraq, now claiming over 2,625 lives of our men and women in uniform and nearly 20,000 wounded, many horribly maimed.

He continues to support tax cuts for the very rich, while cutting social programs that help the poor, schools, elderly and sick.

He continues voting for a growing deficit. He is driving this country into bankruptcy. Didn/t he use to support the Contract With America? That supported us, now he supports the Bush administration/s spending like drunken sailors.

President Bush has made it clear he won/t change directions unless forced by Congress. Thus the only way to save this country is to get rid of his support in Congress, like Mr. Gallegly.

Business award is appreciated

I would like to take this opportunity to thank special people who took the time to go to Santa Barbara recently to help us celebrate in receiving the North Santa Barbara County Small Business of the Year Award.

It was very exciting and more than we ever expected, especially being the first and only small business from Lompoc to win this prestigious award.

So thank you very much to Mayor Dick DeWees and Chamber executive board members Sachi Yenokida and Gary Williams. Also to Gary Bremer and Randy Ledbetter from the Lompoc Napa store, who chauffeured us to Santa Barbara. And to our daughter, Teresa Beltran, who shared in this very special afternoon.

Thanks again everyone. It/s appreciated more than you know.
