Late-inning heroes highlight this week/s diamond action

Late-inning heroics highlighted several Lompoc Parks and Rec softball games played recently, including a three-run walk-off blast by Anthony Terrones that lifted the Family over Walnut Pier Spa.

Git-R-Done got done in twice, with rallies going the way of Valley Podiatric and LPOA, and the Hawks held off Better Beds in a close one.

Whistlestop had a five run fifth inning to put the touch on the Untouchables and Play to Win had a six run sixth to put the bite on Wolf.

Coed Oak League

T/Family 15, W/Pier 14

Terrones Family needed all of the nine-run lead they put up before Walnut Pier scored 13 in the fourth and fifth innings. Danny Terrones led the Family with four hits, including a game-winning three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth. Anthony Terrones doubled and hit two singles, Teresa Martinez had two hits and Jennie Deluna tagged a run-scoring single.

The Spa/s Nick Jansen homered, Kristi McGuire tripled and singled, Faridi Sherieff/s three hits included a double, and Julie Schmidt slapped a run-scoring hit.

W/stop 13, Untouchables 6

Whistlestop poured out a five-run fifth that cinched the win. Carol McDonald and Bruce Hullinger each tapped three hits while Amy Rookhuyzen and Kevin Hunter hit two each. Hullinger and Hunter got doubles for the Stoppers.

Duane Wilks homered, doubled and singled while Josh Jacob tripled and singled for the Untouchables. Barb Jones and Erica Diaz added hits also.

S/board 17, T&F 2

Scoreboard pitcher Rudy Jazo got the defense he needed and four hits each from Bill Wuest and Shawn Leake. Wuest homered, doubled and hit two singles while Leake slammed three doubles and a homer. Tammy Headon knocked in three runs with two hits and Patty Robinson got into the hit parade also.

D.J. Williams doubled twice and John Yeatman singled twice for Tar & Feathers.

ETS 15, Belluz 11

ETS Properties took the lead in the second and never let go. Lanny Bedrosian tripled and singled, Vince Dominguez doubled and singled, and Lisa Carbaugh added two ETS hits.

Dana Fabing got hot with a homer, double and two singles for Belluz Heating while Lynn Hyland tapped three hits. Kenny Gates and Charlene Bailey each doubled and singled.

Arctic League

Honda 20, Legacy 4

Home runs from Jose Salas, Tom Binnebose, and David Gentry powered Lompoc Honda past Lompoc Legacy. Salas added two doubles for four RBI, Binnebose and Gentry two singles each, while Frank Villalobos cranked out a triple, double and single for Honda.

Raul Garcia homered in two Legacy runs, and Rafael Velasquez squeezed two hits off Honda pitcher Curt Kolish.

Misfits 18, Hackers 17

It seemed the Hackers of La Purisima had their prayers answered with a four-run lead going into the last inning, but the JK Cabinet Misfits came up with five scores to go one more and take the win.

Tim Towe drove in three Misfits with a homer, double and single, with Bruce Hullenger nailing a double and single, plus a double from Marcus Randolph and a single by Thomas Reid adding runs.

Sean Fierro/s three hits included a double, Josh Hedrick and Nina Seay each packed a double and single, and Matt Smith slapped a pair of singles for La Purisima.

Garrett 31, Bar Pac 9

If Garrett Electric/s output of 12 runs in the third didn/t convince the Bar Pac, 11 more in the fourth did the job. Mark McLain sparked away at a home run and four singles, Garrett Billings connected on three singles plus a roundtripper, Tom Maccianti lit it up with a homer and two singles, while R.J. Jazo blew out a triple, double and two singles for Garrett/s.

PlaytoWin 18, Wolf 14

PlaytoWin put up six runs n the sixth with the game on the line. PtW pitcher Rudy Jazo homered and hit two singles to get in four runs, Vince Villa tacked on a home run and single, Chris Diaz ran out threee singles and a triple, and Ray Valenzuela doubled and singled.

Robert Stoppe sparked Wolf Electric with a homer and single, Jeff Wolf tripled plus slapped out a pair of singles, Kyle Hunter two doubles and a single, Kenny Greene, Jr. a double and two singles.

Atlantic League

V/Pods 9, G-R-D 8

Valley Podiatric pumped out five runs in the bottom of the sixth and held off Git-R-Done/s last chance rally. Tom Maccianti and Nick Jansen each doubled and singled and Mark Croker had two hits for the Pods.

Git-R-Done got a double and two singles from Jeff Wolf, Justin Bailey added two hits and Nick King tripled.

LPOA 12, G-R-D 9

It was an eight-all tie going into the last inning, when the Cops got it done with four runs to one. Ray Clancy homered and singled while Scott Morgan/s three hits included a double. Phillip Dollman and Chip Arias each chipped in two hits.

Git-R-Done got a two-run double from Brian Burkitt, a pair of hits by Jeff Wolf and a run-scoring single by Ken Bailey.

V&J 9, Amigos 6

V&J Trucking hauled six runs across in the second inning and stayed ahead. Tim Morgan doubled and singled while Jake Johnson added two hits. Mike Despres and Gus Jure added RBI hits for V&J.

Mike Mendibles, Raul Munoz and Kenny Fields had RBI hits for Los Amigos.

Pacific League

Hawks 18, B/Beds 17

Better Beds played it close the entire game. Junicio Cacal had six singles. Shawn Leake/s four Hawk hits included a homer, Adrian Abayari homered, doubled and singled, Mark Rische tagged a triple and two singles, and Larry Jacinto Jr. two doubles and a single.

Eddie Cabral pounded four hits for Better Beds, Brotha Hain two doubles and a single, Paul Terrones a triple and two singles, and Eddie Wray a double and single to drive in three runs.

D/ Deal 23, Todd 6

Dunn Deal delivered plenty of early runs, including a 15-run third inning that did in Todd Pipe. Shane Gallimore/s three hits included a home run while Vince Villa tripled, doubled and singled. Danny Terrones and Chris Diaz each dealt up a triple and two singles.

Todd Pipe got two doubles and a single from Victor Alvarez, plus two hits each from Greg Ellis and Abe Placencia.
