He did it, by golly, he did it Š
Willie Armstead rolled a heavenly 259-278-182/719 last week in the Fun Bunch League, one of his highest series ever. Congratulations Willie, well done!
After Armstead reached seventh heaven with his 719 series, Bob Stokes closed the door to his chariot and cruised back to earth reflecting on his tremendous 239-215-257/711 masterpiece. He had been struggling all season trying to find a line with his equipment. He found it, and then some.
Welcome back Bob, may you have many more sevens this season.
Scores last week were exciting.
The good shooters shot some great scores while several of those who really make the league hum did almost as well.
Like Augusto Rodriguez with a dazzling 259/679, John Flores Junior with an eye- popping 279/628, Seth Walters with a wonderful 234/596, and George Hall with a superlative 247/582.
Paul Feeley was all goo-goo after hitting 207/557, David Harper smiled a lot with his 188/554 and Scot Meile couldn/t believe the recap sheet 7 a third consecutive super set 7 this time 214/538.
Deborah Peterson rolled a terrific 187/516 while Cindy Schutz jumped up and down with happiness after hitting her 199/500 series.
Holding the honors list high was Chris Ward with her sensational 199/545 embossed in red ink.
Great great shooting Chris!
Elks Mixed League
What a night!
The herd really bayed with joy last Sunday.
Becky Gordon picked up the horrendously difficult 6-7-10 split, Teresa Hargrove rolled a 160/440 set and Katie Saum stuffed a 178/478 series into the scoring console.
Wow!
Meanwhile Tony Adams pounded out a 185/483 set, Carmen Vasques smashed a 185/484 and Lerma Buenaventura shot a stepladder series (143-144-145).
Scott Meile excelled two weeks in a row, firing a 233/588, after a 585 two weeks ago.
Nice shooting big fella!
George Hall flexed his right arm three times and toppled a fantastic 236/633 while Jake Buenaventura caused everyone to stop and watch his amazing scoring.
Three weeks ago he shot a 708, two weeks ago a 738, and last week a stupendous 257-225-269/751 masterpiece.
The youngster is just simply blessed with bowling skills above and beyond those of mere mortal men.
Other sensational scores came from Chino Vasquez (234/617), John Vasques (214/595) and Julia Ortiz (188/545). Loretta Loveall and Rosie Vasques closed the corral gate after hitting 178/516 and 168/480, respectively.
Kings & Queens League
Yep, you guessed it, a new King! Gary Watson used a 235 third game to reach a 580 series and send all of the young serfs into the pub seeking a bowling instructor.
Meanwhile, Belinda Thomas retained her title as Queen with a delightful 201/569. From all indications she does not need any help and does not intend to give up her crown.
Brodie All Star Classic League
Several all stars shot some all star numbers last week starting with Ken Greene Senior with a league-leading 252/921.
Bunched together like grapes on a vine were Doug Fennell (243//898), Art Doherty (245/895) and Ken Bailey (256/891).
Justin Bailey found the line in game four (257) and finished with a pleasing 875 series.
Augusto Rodriguez unleashed a terrific 235/853 while Sam Loresco 7 leading the league with a lofty 223 average 7 stroked a rather mild (for him) 245/831 series.
Bob Stokes Junior is finding his stroke and a line to the pocket. He rolled a consistent 219/805 set while Larry Romero filled the anchorman/s position for the honors list after hitting a respectable 224/803.
Meanwhile, the X-Men (Augusto Rodriguez, Larry Romero and Art Doherty) have opened up a comfortable six point lead half way into the first quarter of the winter season.
Go team go!
Hits & Mrs. League
She/s back!
Pat Gramse (and hubby Gary) is back on the mainland for a spell and of course one of the first places they headed for is The House of Action.
Welcome back both of you!
Lerma Buenaventura continued to assault the pins, this time for a terrific 234/587 total. The house is going to charge her for damage to the pins if she keeps this up.
Ngaire Kemp (214/564) and Clarissa Watson (203/543) enjoyed themselves last Tuesday morning but more importantly, their teams did as Ngaire/s won all four points and Clarissa/s three of four. Joanne Signorelli and Lori Segura broke fives. Naw, someone added wrong. Nope, it/s true7 Joanne pounded out a delightful 196/508 and Lori a pin-shattering 204/505.
Terri Owens threw an awesome 188/484 and Todd Hollister continued to enjoy seeing her name on the honors list. She bowled a respectable 170/482. Maria Flores stroked a marvelous 171/477 and Amy Davis replenished the donut tray after smacking a delicious 190/472 set.
Grey Panthers League
Good grief!
Surely someone spiked the coffee before league play?
The honors list was ablaze with high scores 7 really high 7 like three 627 series, five series better than 600, and thirteen better than 500.
Wow!
Gary Gramse, Roy Taatjes and Dan Turocy led the Ocean Lanes shufflers with terrific 627 series.
Ben Schleuning launched a tremendous 224/603 set while Lynn Bond rolled a smooth 222/611.
Jack Barros overwhelmed Bud Covington 214/586 to 202/585 and Omer Joly punched up a huge 210/563.
Liz Schmidt was all smiles after shooting a delightful 199/552 but not as happy as Dick Greenaway who stroked a marvelous 205/556.
Andy Winston was just awesome firing a nifty 204/535 7 just ahead of Joe Bousquet/s 191/531.
But those two were way short of the two super shooters Paul Ortiz and George Hall 7 way short.
Paul sizzled to a 201/550 and George banged out a sensational 224/545.
And congratulations to Bud Morehouse and Jim Walker for anchoring the honors list with respectable 513 series.
