Hat tricks are everywhere in AYSO play

No fewer than seven hat tricks spiced the action in Lompoc AYSO youth soccer last weekend. Not to be outdone however, Destiny Shott won the Record Star of the Weekend Award with a startling four goals on behalf of the U-10 girls/ Stingrays in a 5-1 victory over Purple Lightning.

U-14 Boys

Galaxy 6, Eagles 1

Fernando Mony-Pina, Mathew Marquez and Tomas Velasquez each scored twice for the Galaxy which upped its record to 2-0-1. Daniel Jimenez scored for the Eagles (1-2) while defender Rafael Alberto and midfielder Edgar Arias stood out.

Braves 1, Vitamin C 1 (tie)

Diego Hernandez scored a penalty kick with a minute left for the Braves (1-1-1) to salvage the tie. Miguel Gomez/s dribbling and the play of Alfredo Sanchez were Brave highlights.

America 5, Aztecs 1

Tony Jacobo scored three goals for America while Fernando Osua tallied one and Tario Abrajan starred defensively. America is now 3-0.

U-14 Girls

Crush 1, Blueberry Rockets 0

Goalie Nallely Gomez starred for the 3-0 Crush with two amazing stops. She had help from defense-mates Cassidy Archie and Laura Castro. Ashley Fabing and Cathleen Lynes impressed on defense for the Blueberry Rockets (0-2-1).

Dark Side 4, Psycho 1

Jennifer Justice filled the net with three goals, Emily Paz scored on a penalty kick and Vicky Nava excelled on defense for the Dark Side (2-1).

Girls United 1, Black Magic Babes 1

Jenna Hilliard authored the goal and Kellie Lewis and Arelne Arroyo anchored the defense for Girls United (0-1-2). Bree Piper-Williams scored to tie the contest for the Black Magic Babes (0-1-2) while teammate Kandis Flores kept up the offensive pressure and goalie Shelley Signorelli impressed.

Fusion 3, Tinkerbell 0

Isabel Li demonstrated great defense, Nikki Peirtsegaele scored twice and Tiffany Lee once for the undefeated Fusion (3-0).

U-12 Boys

Aftershock 5, Shock Waves 0

Stephen Dalton scored three times and Art Nelson twice for Aftershock (2-1).

Wolf Pack 6, Mexico 5

Blake O/Brien excelled in goal, Jimmy Phiboondit on defense and David Suarez netted three goals for the 3-0 Wolf Pack.

Eagles 3, Killer Bees 2

Killer Bees (1-2) got goals from Mathew Burke and Toby Contreras and a great game at stopper by Diego Flores but fell.

U-10 Girls

Stingrays 5, Purple Lightning 1

Destiny Shott won the Record Star of the Weekend Award with four goals while Viviana Martinez added one and Elaina Contreras played both ways with panache for Stingrays (1-1-1).

Fantastic Flames 4, Shooting Stars 0

Ashlen Weddington filled the net with three goals, Rebecca Doudna scored once and Kelly Ogan excelled on defense for the still undefeated 3-0 Fantastic Flames. Lindsey Signorelli and Shelby Aasen impressed on defense as did Marlen Sanchez in goal but the Stars (2-1) suffered their first defeat.

Tsunami 5, Blue Flames 1

Mia Cortez scored a hat trick with her three goals and Bailey Belluz excelled on defense for the Tsunami (1-1-1).

Blue Crush 7, Princess Bullfrogs 2

Kayla Pence scored twice and Jenna Grossini once while Audrey Ogden not only starred in goal but also scored for the undefeated Blue Crush (3-0).

U-10 Boys

Green Dragon 6, Cruz Azul 1

Jose Montes scored the goal and defender Patrick Cota and goalie Joseph Martin starred for losing Cruz Azul (1-2).

Anacondas 5, Blue Thunder 0

Trino Zavala notched a hat trick and Erick Arevalo and Kenji Moua added the other two goals for the still undefeated Anacondas.

Hornets 2, Wildcats 2 (tie)

Kenny "The Hawk" Barton and Tom "The Bomb" Requejo scored and Boomer "Boom Dog" Duffey lived up to his nickname for the Hornets (1-1-1).

T/birds 4, Puma Jr. 1

Chase Dalton scored a hat trick and Nate Tulloch scored in his third consecutive game while the Thunderbird defense was paced by Dylan Wilder. The T-birds are 1-2.

U-12 Girls (Sept. 17)

Stinging Hornets 3, Tsunami 0

Athena Nava scored, then Milinda Favela scored twice for the Stinging Hornets (1-0-1). Gabriela Pulido was great on defense.

Gold Lightening 3, Destroyers 1

Kaylin Caton scored one and Brianna Farley scored the first and last for the Gold Lightening (1-1-0). Michele Van Zile caught gold in goal. For the Destroyers (1-1) Julissa Abrego scored and Brianna Rector and Angelina Pinacho played rock/em sock/em defense.

Reapers 1, Funky Monkeys 0

Sameeha Husayn scored the only goal of the game to win for the Reapers (1-0-1). Brigette Sadowski was brilliant in goal and Bonnie Pearson romped and stomped on defense. Narissa Reyna/s defense, tireless hustle by Rachel Benn and efforts from Jamie Lee Miller that drew raves from the fans keynoted play of the Funky Monkeys (1-1).

Pink Panthers 1, Tigers 1

Ashley Ledesma scored for the Pink Panthers (0-1-1) and Lynn Janos and goalie Celena Vargas seemed to be everywhere. Jennifer Rangel tallied the goal for the Tigers (0-1-1) and Mercedes Quezada and Maranda Elliott awed the crowd with their play.
