Six Lompoc Valley youth football teams posted victories last Saturday.
In the Senior Division, the Chem Kids topped Templeton by a 30-0 score while the Conqs came away with a 41-22 victory over Paso Robles.
In the Junior Division, the Lompoc Lions put 40 points on the board while shutting out the Guadalupe Bulldogs, the Conqs edged the Orcutt Steelers, 25-19, the Pistons pulled out a 12-7 victory over the SLO Vikings andAtascadero edged the Lompoc Panthers 7-6.
In the Bantams, The Rebels defeated the Conquistadores 19-14.
Senior Division
Chem Kids 30, Templeton 0
At San Luis Obispo High, Danny Lara/s Chem Kids romped past the previously undefeated Eagles. The defense had a big day with Nicholas McComber making two interceptions and Joe Machado and Jake Morehart making big hits. Morehart also snagged an interception.
On offense, Richie Hirzel scored on a quarterback sneak, Ryan Bower scored on a 10-yard run, Paul Larson converting the PAT, while Morehart scored from the 30 and Machado from the 10.
Lara praised the defensive play of Kylle Maglaya, Cory Gile and Edward Garnica and the play of Tyler Grossini, Jesus Hilario, and Zachary Powell on offense.
The Kids travel to Cambria Saturday to face the Santa Maria Sooners at 3 p.m.
Conqs 41, Paso Robles 22
The Celite/Crabtree Roofing Conqs got an opening second 85-yard kickoff return from Kaleb Mickens and then four more scores later also courtesy of Mickens.
Kyle Avillanoza also scored a TD and David Terrones added PAT/s.
Meanwhile the Q defense featured interceptions by Mickens and Uso Taua and a sack by Brandon Nicastro.
Coach Dave Best credited Evan Schnicker and Alberto Garcia for their contributions to the defense, and Justin Osborne, Leonard Bunten, Kyle Pace and Andy Rotondi on offense.
The Conqs tackle the Orcutt Ravens on Saturday.
Junior Division
Lions 40, Guadalupe Bulldogs 0
At Ryon Park, Ed Garnica/s Moose Lodge Lions reeled off two touchdowns from Dylan Shanen and R.J. Florez and one apiece from Grant Guest and Javier Lopez. Shanen, Lopez and Dustin DeVaux handled PAT duty.
Garnica noted the play of Zach Arrellano, Glenn Taylor and Bradley Warring on offense and assistant coach Glenn Taylor praised the hard work of the entire defensive squad noting extra efforts by Quentin Cayabyab, William Powell and Brian Piemme.
"This game really boosted the second string/s confidence and brought out the potential in everyone," said Garnica.
The Lions travel to Arroyo Grande Saturday to play the Five Cities Eagles at 2 p.m. at Soto Field.
Conqs 25, Orcutt Steelers 19
The Century 21 Preferred Realty Conquistadores took advantage of gaping holes in the Orcutt defense thanks to offensive linemen Alex Coleman, Larry Palato, Sean Kelly, Garrison Haskins and Wesley Williams.
Jeffery Aldridge threw a touchdown pass to Steven Lown at the end of the first half and completed three passes to tight end Keane Marsh, while tailback Lavon Coleman also scored.
Big hits and big plays came from defensive players Ruben Rivas, David Grimes, Ainiuu Taua, Travis Scott, Brian Heggie, James Graham and Marc Julian.
Next, the 2-1 Conqs travel to Cambria to play the 2-1 Morro Bay Pirates.
Pistons 12, SLO Vikings 7
At Ryon Park, Mike Burke/s Perry/s Auto Parts Pistons improved to 3-0.
Edward Carter had a 65-yard touchdown and Nikko Hayes scored behind the blocking of Pappa Espinoza and Joshua Harris.
Keldon Marmolejo, Sheldon Carpenter, Frankie Gutierrez, and Rory Slikker stood out on defense.
The Pistons motor to Atascadero Saturday for a 1 p.m. collision with the Atascadero Falcons.
Atascadero 7, Panthers 6
At Atascadero, the Raiders edged the Double-R BBQ/McIntosh Roofing Panthers in an exciting contest.
A pass from Vinny Hernandez to Robert Gorsuch put the Panthers on the scoreboard in the first quarter.
Coach John Hernandez called attention to his offense and the play of Jordan Warren, Collin Michaelson, Trevon Holifield, Aaron Greene, Taurean Todd and Jose Benavidez.
On defense, he got great outside containment by Eric Naputi, Robert Hernandez, Kiki Andrews, and Evan Leach.
Next game for the Panthers is Saturday at noon at Soto Field in Arroyo Grande against the Five Cities Screaming Eagles.
