Four-goal games by America/s Tony Jacobo and Manchester/s Rodrigo Velasquez highlighted AYSO soccer play in the boys division last week, while three-goal hat tricks were performed by Funky Monkey Jamie-Lee Miller and Fusion/s Ellie Pertsegaile in the girls divisions.
Girls 7 Under 12
Gold Lightening 1, Reapers 0
It took a Gold Lightening strike on a breakaway by Christina York to deal the Reapers their first loss. Kelsey Sherry and Brittney Cobb led the Gold/s frontline efforts against Reapers Amy Rodriguez, Audrana La Porte and Olivia Hawkins.
Pink Panthers 2, Tsunamis 0
Panther goalie Lynn Janos tamed the Tsunami attack with help from defenders Joselyn Perez and Veronica Flores, and helped get the Pink Panthers/ first win despite the defensive stops of Katrina Blitch, Dannika Kidney and Serena Zuares for the Tsunami.
Funky Monkeys 3, Tigers 1
The Monkeys were too Funky for the Tigers after a hat trick of goals from Jamie-Lee Miller. Karina Gonzalez and Alexis Contreras provided >solid midfield playC in helping the Monkeys get their fifth win.
Jennifer Rangel ripped a goal in for the Tigers, helped out by Maranda Elliot and goalie Helena Alvarez.
Stinging Hornets 3, Destroyers 0
The Hornets stung for three goals as Gabi Pulido and Maricela Reyes kept the ball up front, with forward Alexa Berryman hustling after the ball all afternoon. Destroyers Angelina Pinacho, Briana Rector and Casandra Diaz drew praise for their efforts.
Under 14
Tinkerbells 0, B/ Rockets 0 (tie)
The Blueberry Rockets/ offense fizzled against Tinkerbell goalie Sandra Lopez, with help from >Bells Michelle Baca and Yvonne Gutierrez. Rocket goalie Ariel Aguilar kept the Bells from ringing her goal with help from Martha Gomez and Meryah Romo.
Psychos 5 Babes 0
Rebekah Rogers went Psycho on the goal twice for Prudential, with Sara Taylor and Brittany Ibarra adding Psycho hits as well. Black Magic Babe Shelby Signorelli kept her cool in the goal, while Babes Bree Piper-Williams and Caressa Arellano conjured what they could. Both teams were praised for their sportmanship.
Crush 2, Dark Side 0
Lompoc Crush goes 6-0 after two goals from Cynthia Vargas, with help from Nicole Kunijian and Miranda Delgado. Heather Leyva/s efforts gave the Dark Side offense, while Emily Paz and Denise Hernandez limited the Crush on defense.
Fusion 4, Girls United 0
The Fusion kept it together with three goals from Ellie Peirtsegaile and another score by Tiffany Lee, with an assist from Kristin Pauley.
The Girls stayed United behind goalie Brandy Machado, Elisa Swartz and Andee Lewis.
Under 10
Fantastic F/ 4, Blue F/ 0
The battle of the Flames went the way of the 6-0 Fantastics, with Ashley Jacobsen leading the scoring while Alexa Uribe and Amanda Stanton shut down any flareups the Blue Flames could flash.
W/S/Stars 4, Stingrays 1
The Stingrays put up a challenge with a goal from Destiny Shott, saves by Claire Flynt and outstanding field play from Valerie O/Dell, but the White Shooting Stars got hot and took the game.
T/L/ Bolts 6, Pink Angels 1
Teal Lightening Bolts were hitting everywhere, with Rachel Pacheco starting the scoring followed by two strikes each by Bolts Ali Nelson and Savannah Tucker.
Firebirds 3, Blue Crush 0
The undefeated 6-0 Firebirds showed control of the field by Chloe Repp and Katie Ryan, while the shutout was anchored by Jazmine Morales.
Shooting Stars 3, Alley Cats 2
Stars Andrea Hill, Lindsey Signorelli and Lexie Barbosa made the shots that gave the Shooting Stars their fourth win.
Tsunami 4, Purple Lightning 0
Tsunami Ashley Ledgerwood had a great all-around game, and scored off an indirect kick, while Kaeli Jones added a goal in Tsunami/s fourth win.
Boys 7 Under 14
America 5, Eagles 0
America/s Tony Jacobo scored four times, Ricky Preciado scored once and got an assist on one of Jacobo/s goals, and America is now 5-1-0. Defender Andy Ferruzca led the shutout effort.
Braves 2, Inter-Milan 1
The Braves Shane Reeves led the D that held Inter-Milan to one goal, while John Hernandez and Alex Thumm provided the offense that gives the Braves a 3-1-2 record.
Under 12
Aftershock 2, Green W/s 1
Aftershock/s Art Nelson scored both goals with help from Shane Nothstein, while Johnny Martinez held the Green Warriors to a single goal by Miguel Ochoa. Juan Carlos Ochoa and halfback Juan Cedeno led the Warriors/ efforts.
Manchester 4, Killer Bees 3
Manchester/s Rodrigo Velaquez took the sting out of the Bees with four goals, while Rudy Zazueta helped goalie Jaime Aguilar hold off the Bees/ assault led by Toby Contizuzus, Simon Reed and Nick Bell.
Chargers 3, Argentina 3
Charger co-captain Bernardo Rubio, Freddy Ruiz and Victor Dealba sparked the scoring while co-captain Everardo Sanchez manned the net. Argentina got two scores from Bricio Chavez and a tying goal by Rodrigo Hernandez, while Jerry Fujioka/s defense preserved the tie.
Wolfpack 5, Shockwave 0
Wolfpack goalie Blake O/Brien silenced the Shockwave with help from Jorge Flores, while David Suarez led the Wolfpack scoring attack. The /Pack is 6-0.
Shockwaves got good efforts from Chris Keebler, Nate Lewis and Jon Morgan.
Under 10
Wildcats 5, Cruz Azul 3
Four Wildcats clawed out goals, with Phillip Naughton hitting twice, to hold off Cruz Azul. Carson Link, Josh Scarfe and Andreas Rasmussen also scored Wildcat goals.
Hornets 4, Tecos Jr. 2
The Hornets get a win, thanks to a “monster game on offense and defenseC from Eugene Choi, and goals from Kenny “The HawkC Barton and Boomer Duffey.
