Eleven Lompoc youth bowlers received awards recently for their performance in the state bowling tournament in San Jose. The event ran for two months during the summer.
The star of the event was David O/Dwyer Jr. who finished first in the Gold Finals and won a berth in the national championships next summer in Florida. He also took third in “all eventsC 7 meaning singles, doubles and team 7 and a fifth in singles.
Jamal Hargrove took second in singles and he and Breanna Skrudland placed second in all events.
Skrudland and her sister Kory took third in doubles while the team of Hargrove, Jeremy Buenaventura, Josh Rondash and Jessica Vasques placed fourth in the team competition.
Breanna Skrudland took a fifth in singles and Jackie Borges and Erick Travali took sixth in doubles.
Sean Vasquez notched an eighth and a 23rd, Brianna Johnson and John Vasquez each a 15th, and Paul Vasques a 16th.
