The Lompoc Braves will tackle their third straight Pac-5 opponent of the season in the Arroyo Grande Eagles at Doug Hitchen Stadium in AG Friday night.
After solid victories over Paso Robles and Righetti, the AG contest will serve as a final test on how the Braves may fare next season when they join the Div. IV league.
Lompoc/s offense has been improving each week while their defense has been stifling in two of their first three games.
Tailback Joseph Scott remains the cornerstone of the offense.
But he/s not a one-man show.
Quarterback Tim Ochoa passed for four touchdowns in last week/s 35-3 rout of Righetti.
Bruising fullback Jakob Sims and talented two-way players Jonathan Terrones, Sean Webb, Sam Ruiz, Zach Greco and Tommy Hayes provide a change of pace when the Braves have the ball.
Next week, Lompoc meets Nipomo in their Los Padres League opener.
Meanwhile, Arroyo Grande lost their opener 39-14 to Madera but, since then, rebounded to win 21-7 over St. Joseph and 21-19 over Hanford.
In the St. Joseph game, the Eagles ran their customary fly offense for a total of 286 rushing yards while passing just three times, all incomplete.
The Braves can look forward that same kind of run oriented attack from the Eagles.
Game time is 7:30.
Press Box Productions will resume its live audio-over-TV broadcasts via TAP-TV on Comcast channel 23 or 24. Gregg Ratcliff and Mike Loney will be mikeside.
The game will also be broadcast on KXTY 99.7 FM.
