It is said that dynamite comes in small packages.
The pins on lanes 19-20 will tell you this is true for here is where Justin Buenaventura blew the pins away for a remarkable 112-144-153/409 series.
So, you might say?
Well, consider this 7 Justin is a six-year-old lad of some 53 pounds, four feet, three inches tall, with an 83 average. Thus his 409 series averages out to a spectacular 136. Now you understand and appreciate why Justin is now called “Little Dynamite.C
Meanwhile, brother Jeremy had a terrific 181/521 set just ahead of Sean Vasquez who pounded out a four-bagger for a 203 game and sizzling 518 series. Jason Love hit a strong 144/402, Cory Nelson an outstanding 120/317, and Dylan Damschroder and Ariana Fisher sizzled with each scoring a 315 series.
Finally, the scoring machine called David O/Dwyer Junior splattered a 244/649 on to the pin decks. His average now is a mere - gasp - 220.
Wow!
Elks Mixed League
Highlights for the past two weeks include Jake Buenaventura stroking his fourth consecutive 700 series (247/720), Chino Vasquez nailing a beautiful 300 game and terrific 706 set, Ken Greene Senior going out and in for a dazzling 237/686 and John Vasques shooting a splendid 234/667 series.
Ernie Clark hit a humungous 268 game and decent 630 series while some of the lesser average herd members did some damage of their own. Like Jerry Newton rolling a 225/643, Ed Shoemaker ripping a 251/633 and Bud Morehouse firing a terrific 207/578.
Gail Newton stroked a delightful 192/539, Loretta Loveall smashed a superb 193/532, George Hall fired a great 180/523 and Greg Packham hit a dandy 200/521. And how about Tony Adams with a sparkling 209/521 and Amy Davis scoring a great 207 game and 507 series to anchor the honors list.

Another ten in the pit for Liz Schmidt as she splattered a 225/591 series. Lerma Buenaventura stayed close to Liz with a 216/563 and Judy Jenkins joined the lofty ones with a 215/556.
Meanwhile, Joanne Signorelli broke a five 7 really 7 a sizzling 173/504. Bobbi Thompson got on a her tiptoes and scored a 187/500 while Lori Segura and Pat Gramse cursed missing their fives. Lori hit 180/499 and Pat 179/497.
Two 130 average shooters dazzled the audience last week. Sonia Brown hit a mammoth 179/485 and Sally Mendez a sensational 182/460.
And who led the young ladies to the snack bar?
None other than Bernie Shoemaker with her 166/466 masterpiece.
Kings & Queens League
One of the longest reigns in league history came to an end last week as Ngaire Kemp topped Belinda Thomas 187/519 to 177/514 to claim the Queen/s robe for the week.
Belinda let it be known she plans to return to the throne.
Gary Watson captured the King/s title with a regal 251/643 series.
Hail King Gary!
Rick Horne hit a solid 199/567, Dan Turocy a splendid 197/561 and John Harney dazzled everyone with his terrific 212/560. Antony Overton and Gene Rondash anchored the honors list: Antony hit a 203/537 and Gene 223/528.
Brodie All Star Classic League
Robert Thompson was the highlight of the evening shooting an outstanding 268/909 and winning three side pots. He is slowly regaining the stroke he had before stepping away from the sport over a year ago. Watch out pins!
The first quarter team championship will be determined by the time you read this column. The X-Men lost four of six last week and now must battle the Killer B/s and Beer Factor for the title. Results next week.
Three All Stars made Thompson work hard last week.
Jake Buenaventura shot a splendid 280/893, Ken Bailey hit a smashing 245/883 and Doug Fennell stroked a 259/882. John Harney anchored the honors list with his first 800 of the season 7 a wonderful 224/857.
Grey Panthers League
Several old timers really enjoyed themselves last week shooting scores well above their averages like, for example, Richard Greenaway (hmm, he/s not really that old) with a nifty 191/525, and Bob Stokes Senior (now, he is old) with a powerful 198/521.
Frank Silva hit a strong 182/511, Pat Gramse a delightful 192/492 and Katie Saum a sensational 179/475. Scooter Braithwaite rounded off the list of super strokers with a marvelous 164/473.
Worthy of special mention, however, are Lee McClatchey (203/583), the island hopper Gary Gramse (204/575), Omer Joly (212/566) and the dynamic Andy Winston with a stunning 211/504.
Classic Commercial League
Well shucks, only two 700 series last week.
Chris Moseby with a spectacular 277/721 and Danny Schanick with a sensational 289/705.
Mark Salinas almost hit a seven (254/693) but his carburetor flooded out. Mike Woods was awesome throwing a 267/690 and Larry Romero used a great 269 game to reach a sparkling 645 total.
Four shooters did extremely well 7 Pete Hope fired a tremendous 235/640, George Hetzel hit a wonderful 222/600, Louise Deveny used her tweezers to pluck out a delightful 198/517 and Howard Fenner anchored the honors list with a bountiful 191/514.
Fun Bunch League
The big shooters had fun shooting their averages but the lesser average shooters had even more fun 7 like Mike Galindo with a 200/585, David Harper with a 192/560 and Jeff Benda with a 203/557.
The Jenkins tribe was on fire with Jim hitting another monster 212/603 and Judy at 198/569.
The McClatcheys also did okay 7 Melva whitewashed hubby Lee 210/546 to 181/527.
Ben Barker stroked a huge 191/527, Scott Meile a decent 188/527 and Felix Contreras a splendid 213/518. Pat Turpin broke another five (190/514) and Todd Hollister and Bobbi Thompson lit up the scoreboard with Todd/s 191/508 and Bobbi/s 182/500.
