7/13/03 The Vandenberg Air Force Base Hawks, perpetual frontrunners this century in Lompoc Parks and Rec softball, are still feeling Hawkish if results of their summer season opener in the first week of July are any indication.

Aaron "Godzilla" Mendoza had a homer, triple, three doubles and six RBI, Junicio Cacal a homer, two singles and three RBI, Kenny Gates two triples, a single and three RBI and winning pitcher Jason Porter helped the cause with three doubles and two RBI for the VAFB Hawks.
Gary "Jumpstart" Jones had a homer, single and two RBI, Ron Morrison a double, two singles and two RBI, Rob Craigie and Chris Boston a triple and ribbie each for the Gardeners of Pizzaville.
Your Place 21, Butler Bros. 16
John "Well-Seasoned" Salter had a homer, three singles and four RBI, Mike Escobedo a homer, single and two RBI, Darrell McNamee two doubles and two RBI, Dwayne Wilks a double, two singles and three RBI and Jesse Trancoso Jr. was the winning pitcher for Your Place or Mine.
Larry "Many Jacks" Jacinto Jr. clouted a homer, two doubles, a single and had four RBI, Ken Fields had a triple, double, single and RBI, Mike Bennett a double, two singles and three RBI, Rudy Jazo three singles and two RBI for Butler Bros. Pizza.

Winning pitcher Bobby "Fried Potatoes" Froehlich had a homer, two singles and four RBI, Chris Rojas a homer, triple, double and four RBI, John Lizarraga two homers and two singles, Eddie Cabral two triples, two doubles and five RBI for Better Beds and Furniture.
Dennis "Double D" Deleissegues had a double, single and three RBI, Art Martinez three singles, Bill Wuest a double and single, Steve Dobozy two singles and an RBI for V&J Trucking.

Tim "Big" Towe had two homers, two singles and six RBI, Rodney Barcelona a home, three singles and four RBI, Daniel Smith a homer, triple and five RBI, John Schuchard three triples and three RBI and Chris Boston was the winning pitcher for Lennie/s Misfits.
Many Jacks Jacinto had a homer, single and five RBI, Doug Beecher a triple, two singles and five RBI, John Fuentes a homer and single, David Everett a double, single and RBI for Pactuco Industries.

Eric "Hammer" Holcomb had a homer and two RBI, David Evans two singles and an RBI, Randy Gil and Faridi Sherief a single and RBI each for Valley Podiatric.

"Crusher" Chris Clemens had two homers and two doubles, Ray Clancy two homers, two singles and seven RBI, Willy Francis a homer, double and four RBI, Chip Arias a homer, single and three RBI, Steve Delauretis a homer and single for the Lompoc Police Officers Association.
Jeremy "King Kong" Cota had a homer, two doubles and five RBI, Duane DePhillips a homer, single and two RBI, Jesse Lee a double, two singles and two RBI, Bill Lynch two singles and two RBI for Beattie Motors.
